My BIG reason WHY...it’s my girls. Time has a way of flying by and one day I woke up and realized my kids were my favorite people to be around! Then I realized that they wouldn’t be kids or like exactly like they are now for that much longer...I mean, do I really only have a few years left of this???!!!

About two years ago, I had just started a new job in corporate and I had 10 days of vacation each year, only 10 days to watch them challenge themselves to a new black diamond, explore the downtowns of cities like San Fran and NYC, sip Shirley Temples and Margaritas together at lunch on Main Street in Park City, hike the rapids of the Narrows in Zion, and so so so much more. So only 10 days times how many years do I have left???

That wasn’t acceptable for me, I knew I needed more, but they couldn’t give me more and not offer it to everyone else, or so they said. Which left me with only one option - I had to leave. And to leave, I had to have a plan. I wanted freedom. I didn’t just want to leave that job, I wanted to leave the chains that were holding me back. But I didn’t know anything about starting a business, or so I thought.

It didn’t take me long to dive into the world of online businesses, and soon I discovered so many possibilities! And the best part, I could design it any way I wanted to!

And you may ask: What is the key to making it work? Answer: get super clear on your WHY! Because your WHY will keep you going, it will keep you from giving up and keep you open to receiving that next idea or opportunity. My girls are what I am grateful for every day and all the amazing memories we get to have this year because I stopped letting people around me tell me how many days I get to have with my family each year.

I stayed in my corporate career for over 12 years because it was easy and when my kids were young, I wanted EASY! Haha. Choosing freedom this past year meant stepping out of what was easy, leaving what I was used to doing, and stepping into the unknown with faith that I could do it. And everyday I have to make that decision again and again, the decision to keep facing my fears, keep working on my own personal development so I can serve this purpose that I’ve discovered in me.

And when I pick up Charlotte and Natalie from school at 2:05 p.m. and get to hear how their day went, and I get to bring them HOME, this is when I reconnect with my WHY each day. And that reconnection is key, it keeps me motivated. I will never regret the years that they went to after-school care because I worked until 4 or 5pm, because those years were essential for me to discover what I really truly wanted, and then to appreciate it when I finally made it happen.
